Well I googled! As well as my furry paws would allow me to google…that is! Apparently, in France, the Napoleon pastry is known as mille-feuilles, and outside of France it is known as a Napoleon. Yet, I remember distinctly that when we were in France with Mumzy and Popzy…it was known, understood, and ordered at the various cafes…by the name of…Napoleon! Therefore, there goes that theory…right out of the window…along with the crow which just flew by! Perhaps, the crow comes from France as well,…and he would know as to the origin of this most delicious pastry.
Mille-feuilles…my furry paws! Now what do I do? One would think that the humans of the world would have a sensible answer regarding this matter…one would think…would not one? Alas, it is said, that the pastry was indeed invented in France, and that it was indeed Napoleon Bonaparte’s favorite pastry. I should have asked the Emperor when I had the utmost pleasure of meeting him. If one wishes to know more regarding this particular matter, one may check out my book, Cat Paws Through History, Ko-Ko the Cat Meets Napoleon Bonaparte. Thus, I will continue researching this matter further. It is a rather curious matter, but then again, I am a rather curious pussycat…so there! Ta-ta!!! Phffft!

Please do forgive me, however I was not able to post a blog on Tuesday. Alas, the entire day was one giant hairball moment…which lasted basically all day long. Not much fun…if you know what I mean. I slept most of the day. Although, cats are said to sleep 16 hours a day, I do believe that I slept even longer. Mumzy always gives me some butter or a special hair ball prevention concoction. It worked! Hairballs are a nuisance. Yet, they can also have dangerous side effects. I am a Persian cat. I have very long fur, therefore hairballs are a fact of life.
As promised, I have been doing my research regarding the Napoleon pastry. Whether it did or did not originate in France, is a matter of opinion; however, I do wish to get to the bottom of this. I still would like to know as to why it is called a Napoleon. Did Napoleon Bonaparte enjoy eating them?…I wonder. Ta-ta!

All last evening, I pondered and purred…purred and pondered…pondered and purred. Eventually, having stretched out my ever so furry and pudgy paws, I sighed and stuck a single whisker in the air. I had made a major decision. I came to the realization that I enjoy discussing Napoleon Bonaparte. Therefore, he is now in my list for future discussions. My relationship with the late Emperor of France is rather complicated.
For, initially…I believed that a Napoleon was a most delicious pastry…and so it is. It is indeed a wonderful pastry. It is often referred to as a French pastry. Although, I am not quite certain of the origins of this beautiful food. I will check, and get back to you.
Back to Napoleon Bonaparte…a while back, my Mumzy and Popzy placed me in my travel basket and off we went to Belgium…in order to visit Waterloo. I soon realized that they had not dragged me across the world to see a pastry, nor to visit a bird named Loo who resided in the water…After all, one must come to the realization at some point that I am a pussycat and somewhat unfamiliar with certain matters. I will discuss this entire situation further…the next time. I do not blog on weekends nor holidays. Have a most purr-fect Memorial Day. May God Bless America…Ta-ta!

Actually, I have a C.H.D. which stands for a Doctorate in Cat-ilosophy. However, if you wish to refer to me as Dr. Ko-Ko, that would be quite appropriate as well. Thus, let us begin our second day in the adventures of Ko-Ko the Cat and his unique blog. Overnight, as I spent many an hour purring, I had much to ponder upon. I decided that in my blog, I would share with the masses, my passions for the various matters of importance in the daily existence of my life as an extraordinary pussycat. For example, my adventures and travels, my love of history, classical music and film. The importance of etiquette in the day to day survival of man and beast, etc.
Alas, it shall be an interesting journey. Well,… let us state that it shall be quite enlightening. I shall ponder some more this evening, and perhaps tomorrow,…we shall begin…that is,…if I feel like it. After all, first and foremost, I am a pussycat. Pussycats do what they want…when they want.
Get use to it! It is…what it is. Ta-Ta!

The news from Oklahoma is quite upsetting! I am worried about the people and the animals. I am most saddened about the children. May God Bless them all!
